Men's Everyday Wellbeing: Movement, Sleep and Check-ups

Content updated: 1 September 2026

Men's wellbeing is supported by regular movement, adequate sleep, balanced food, no tobacco, stress support and timely attention to symptoms rather than delaying care.

In this guide
  • Move regularly
  • Protect sleep and mental wellbeing
  • Avoid tobacco
  • Do not delay check-ups

Move regularly

Walking, cycling, sports, strength work and active household tasks all count as movement. Build towards a weekly routine that improves stamina and muscle strength without ignoring pain or existing medical advice.

Protect sleep and mental wellbeing

Keep a regular sleep schedule and make room for recovery. Ongoing irritability, anxiety, low mood or loss of interest deserves support; speaking early is a practical health action, not a weakness.

Avoid tobacco

All forms of tobacco are harmful and can affect the heart, lungs, circulation and fertility. Qualified cessation support and follow-up can make quitting more manageable.

Do not delay check-ups

  • Check blood pressure and blood sugar when advised.
  • Discuss family history and age-appropriate screening with a clinician.
  • Seek assessment for persistent urinary, sexual, chest, breathing, digestive or unexplained fatigue symptoms.
A supplement cannot replace assessment of a new, persistent or worsening symptom.
Sudden chest pain, severe breathing difficulty, weakness on one side, fainting or thoughts of self-harm require urgent help.
